T.B. Penick is a construction company with over 100 year history in San Diego. They have also built a reputation as one of the most trusted contracting businesses in Southern California. In the past ten years they have grown from a regional company working primarily in San Diego to one of the top contractors in America, working in all 50 states and on three continents. Pacific Cornerstone Architects was tasked to design their new corporate headquarters in an existing building, reflecting their values. As a top concrete contractor, the design incorporated exposed concrete walls and innovative concrete flooring throughout the project. Flexible gathering spaces, training rooms, war rooms were provided throughout the building. Materials used represented the construction industry and the projects TB Penick builds. Glass, steel, deeply stained wood, and flashes of color. A LEED inspired design, which used energy efficient lighting, high seer HVAC, recycled materials, low VOC paints and sealants, interior day- lighting concepts, and low-flow fixtures where ever possible.
