PCA designed the renovations for the existing Maya and Olmeca residence halls. Maya and Olmeca are a legacy “Red-Brick” 3-story that was used throughout the CSU system. The renovations included restrooms, showers, dorm room, common areas, security lobby, meeting spaces, faculty apartment, and enhanced exteriors. In addition MEP infrastructure and controls were added for enhanced occupant comfort. Maya hall finished and was opened for incoming 2018 students and Olmeca is under construction and will be open for the 2019 students, completing the project. Maya Hall students have responded positively to the new fresh look.

Eric Hansen, Director Office of Housing Administration, was a happy end user. His comments was….” PCA and Kitchell did a masterful job of not only meeting our expectations, but exceeding them in terms of design, schedule, function, and budget. With several of the other CSU campuses managing the same/similar ‘Red Brick’ buildings on their respective campuses, this project will be a template for excellence. The PCA and Kitchell team have been and amazing team to work with and we appreciate their effort and the results…..”
